It’s hard to believe that Mascot Dental Clinic is about to hit a massive milestone - it will be our 10 year anniversary soon! Looking back 10 years ago, the Mascot station precinct was a very different place from what it is today. Woolworths was still under construction, and most of the Meriton apartment buildings hadn’t even been built. The area was on the cusp of major transformation, and we knew that big changes were coming.
Having already lived in Mascot for several years by that point, we saw this as the perfect time and place to create a dental clinic that would serve the growing needs of this vibrant, developing community.
A Vision Comes to Life
When we first found 244 Coward St, it was a blank canvas—a shell waiting to be transformed into something special. Starting from scratch gave us the unique opportunity to create a clinic from the ground up, exactly as we envisioned it. After many planning sessions, discussions, and brainstorming sessions, we finalized our vision: a cosy yet modern clinic that would cater to patients’ comfort while offering the best in dental care. We began by designing a two-chair practice, with plans to expand to three chairs as the community around Mascot Station continued to grow. We chose to equip the clinic with Planmeca branded dental chairs, known for their superior comfort and functionality, ensuring that our patients would experience the highest level of care from the moment they sat down. The goal was to make Mascot Dental Clinic a place where people would feel comfortable in a place that is so often feared.
September 2014: Construction Begins
By September 2014, the fit-out of Mascot Dental Clinic was officially underway! It was an exciting time, watching the clinic take shape after months of meticulous planning. Walls went up, holes were drilled and pipes were laid under the flooring to accommodate the state-of-the-art dental chairs. Every element of the clinic’s design was carefully considered—from the layout of the rooms to the placement of each piece of equipment—to create a space that was as functional as it was welcoming.
Mascot Dental Clinic was born!
